SPEAKER

Paulo Valadão de Miranda | UFRJ & ABH2

He holds a bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and a post-doctorate in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at École Centrale de Paris and Université de Paris-Sud.
He is a Professor at UFRJ in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, teaching at the Polytechnic School and the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering (COPPE/UFRJ).
He is the head of the Hydrogen Laboratory (LabH2/COPPE/UFRJ), president of the Brazilian Hydrogen Association (ABH2), a member of the board of directors of the International Association of Hydrogen Energy (IAHE), and president of the organizing committee of the 22nd World Hydrogen Energy Conference 2018 (WHEC).
Specialized in physical metallurgy, he also conducts research and development work in areas related to the energetic use of hydrogen, such as: Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs), development of buses and vessels with electric traction in a hybrid system with fuel cells, hydrogen embrittlement of steels, and diffusion barriers for hydrogen through pulsed plasma nitriding.
